Zach McMillan's 2013 campaign drew to a close on Saturday evening as he participated in the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing (SUPR) sanctioned, Lone Star Turkey Shootout at Lone Star Speedway (Kilgore, Texas).
The $5,000-to-win event attracted a field of 31 entries to the 3/8 mile oval, and struggles in preliminary action forced McMillan to utilize a series' provisional to start the main event on the tail of the field.
In the 50 lap finale McMillan had a strong car, and was up to the 12th position, when contact from another competitor forced him into the wall. As he bounced off the wall he spun and received a hard hit from a lapped car, which tore the nose off his car. The damage resulted in a disappointing DNF.
