Zach McMillan and the team traveled to Thunder Valley Speedway (Glenmora, Louisiana) on Saturday night. Twenty-eight Super Late Models registered for the Inaugural St. Jude Classic, which posted a $5,000 winner's check.
In preliminary action a mechanical failure in his heat race sent Zach to a b-main where he would start seventh. McMillan finished fourth in the b-main which earned him the 20th starting spot in feature event. Zach had worked his way up to twelfth in the running order before the race's first caution waved.
On the restart McMillan was caught up in a melee which sent him to the tail of the field for another attempt to go back green. Back underway McMillan began his march back through the field, but unfortunately disaster would strike again for the Kilgore, Texas native. A two-car tangle on the front straightaway collected Zach when he shot high on the track to avoid the incident, only to collide with another competitor. His night came to an end with a disappointing sixteenth place finish.
