December 17th, 2016 - Zach McMillan Attends VP Racing Fuels Gateway Dirt Nationals to Wrap up 2016 Campaign

Entering the inaugural VP Racing Fuels Gateway Dirt Nationals presented by Karl Performance, Zach McMillan headed to The Dome at America’s Center (St. Louis, Missouri) on Thursday night for the three-day unsanctioned weekend. Drawing a stacked field of 97 Super Late Models, McMillan earned the 8th-starting spot for his heat on Friday based off two rounds of qualifying on Thursday. Transferring only the heat race winner into the A-Main, McMillan transferred into the D-Main. Sending the Top 4 into the C-Main, Zach stormed to a consolation win putting 13th on the starting rundown for the C-Main. Charging through the field nine positions, Zach egged his way into the B-Main with a 4th place finish. Starting in 20th for one final shot at the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Zach McMillan posted a 15th place finish. Returning on Saturday for the $20,000-to-win finale, McMillan rolled off 15th for the B-Main. Needing a 6th place finish or better to make the show, Zach moved up four spots logging a 11th place finish but came up short of a transfer position.
