December 16th, 2017 - McMillan Attends Gateway Dirt Nationals

On Thursday night Zach McMillan made the trek to The Dome at America’s Center (St. Louis, Missouri) for the second annual VP Racing Fuels Gateway Dirt Nationals. With the stout field of 94 Super Late Models split into two groups for a round of qualifying on Thursday, McMillan recorded the 24th fastest time earning him the 7th-starting position for his heat on Friday. Needing to place in the Top 4 to make the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Zach logged a 9th place finish sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 2 into the show, McMillan improved three spots to place 6th ending his night early. (K.C. Shaw photo) Returning on Saturday afternoon for one final shot at the $30,000-to-win finale, Zach came up four spots short of a transfer position in his B-Main with a 6th place outing.
