 On Thursday evening Zach McMillan made the trek to The Dome at America’s Center (St. Louis, Missouri) for the 3rd annual VP Racing Fuels Gateway Dirt Nationals. Drawing 93 Super Late Models for a round of qualifying, McMillan timed in 28th fastest in his group earning him the 5th-starting position for his heat race on Friday.
 Transferring the Top 3 into one of the two $5,000-to-win preliminary features, Zach came up one spot short with a 4th place finish. Rolling off 4th in his B-Main for another shot at the A-Main, McMillan worked his way into a transfer spot early but faded late in the race to place 11th. (Dirtman Photography)
Returning on Saturday starting in 9th in his B-Main for his final shot at the $30,000-to-win finale, McMillan improved three positions but fell short of a transfer spot with a 6th place outing.
