 Bringing the 2018 season to life, Zach McMillan traveled to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) on Monday night kicking off the DIRTcar Nationals. In a field of 40 cars, McMillan dropped two spots in his 10-lap heat race logging an 8th place finish. Needing a 4th place finish or better in his B-Main to make the opening night feature, Zach posted a 9th place outing.
 After Mother Nature wiped out Tuesday’s program, Zach was one of 51 cars signed in on Wednesday evening for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series season opener. Holding his spot in his heat, McMillan posted a 7th place finish sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 3, Zach made hard contact with the wall that dropped him back to a 9th place finish.
 Returning on Thursday evening, McMillan recorded a 6th place finish in his heat giving him one final shot at the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Sending the Top 3 into the show, Zach came up two spots short with a 5th place outing. (Heath Lawson photo)
In a field of 46 cars on Friday, McMillan bagged a 10th place finish in his heat transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place in the Top 3 to make the feature, Zach fell short with a 9th place finish.
Wrapping up the 47th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Saturday night, Zach placed 9th in his heat giving him one last shot at the $10,000-to-win finale with a consolation event. Transferring the Top 3, Zach McMillan logged a 7th place outing bringing an early end to his weekend.
